Lorraine Kelly is the salt of the earth… professional to the end and normally unflustered at most things.
But even we had to feel sorry for her after her totally awkward interview with frontman of The Darkness, Justin Hawkins.
The singer went on a bizarre rant about “slutty” Halloween costumes and Christmas during his odd chat.
He also had a bit of a rant to fans of his music after revealing that his album was released on CD and cassette, he admitted he didn’t know whether the album was available to download.
Adding, “People on the internet will find a way. It will have been leaked… anything where there’s anticipation always gets spoiled by internet people,” he said.
“Love you guys, well done. Well done for ruining the music trade!”
Erm! AWKWARD!
Much as though Lorraine did everything she could to stay jolly though the chat, the awkwardness didn’t go unnoticed on social media.
But Lorraine soldiered on, foolishly asking if, after a fair amount of time away, the group was now bigger and better than before, to which Justin replied in a sarcastic tone, “Bigger and better? No, we’re the same size.”
“I do feel more relaxed though. I just want to recline all the time and savour the moments.”
The 42 year old also said, “Christmas is rampant consumerism but the spirit of it is quite pure and so you have to get behind it. But Halloween is about spiders attacking people and women dressing up as slutty cats.
“Guy Fawkes is a bit like the guy with the P45 [that gave Theresa May a copy this week] , only Guy Fawkes had lots of explosives.
“Christmas is the one where we’re celebrating a baby being born. So let’s buy gifts for each other and let’s pretend we like the presents our families get us.”
