Lose A Stone In 21 Days viewers have thanked the makers of the divisive programme for helping them drops the pounds.
The final episode of the controversial Channel 4 diet show, which saw Dr Michael Mosley aim to help five volunteers lose 14lbs in just three weeks, aired on Wednesday (August 19) evening.
What happened on Lose A Stone in 21 Days?
At the end of the programme, Dr Michael revealed the participants’ collective results.
Between them, they shed over five stone after following a carefully controlled diet of just 800 calories per day.
Dr Michael said on the show: “People say to me all the time, ‘Surely rapid weight loss is not healthy?’ And the reality is, if you do it properly it can be.
To one of the volunteers, he added: “By every marker, you are healthier than you were three weeks ago.”
“It was never really about the weight,” Dr Michael continued. “It was about all the other things which we have come across on the way, whether it is the heart disease risk, the raised cholesterol.

“Between them our five volunteers have lost over five stone and set their bodies on track for a healthier future.”
One of the participants reflected afterwards: “It was the diabetes that really made me worry, and made me feel concerned. And it made me think about the future, and my boys and my family. So knowing that I’m going in the right direction, rather than the wrong direction… I think that’s why I got emotional.”
