Love Island runner-up Tommy’s cousin ‘put into intensive care after being stabbed’

He was in intensive care

The cousin of Love Island runner-up Tommy Fury was reportedly left fighting for his life after being stabbed.

Peter Fury Jr, 28, was stabbed on a night out with pals and was rushed to hospital last weekend.

According to The Sun, he underwent a major operation and was put into intensive care.

It’s believed that Peter and another man were followed out of The Bubble Room in Alderley Edge, Cheshire, and a fight broke out.

Paramedics were called around 12:30am on Sunday and a man and woman were arrested on suspicion of assault and later bailed.

Peter’s dad, Peter Snr, told the publication: “He is lucky to be alive. He went through a four-hour operation. There were stab wounds all down the right side of his body, on his chest and arm and in the middle of his abdomen.

“Peter was lucky in that no vital organs were damaged. As I understand it they had an altercation inside the club and went outside for a fight. It was a total shock when I learned what had happened. I am a family man.

“You don’t expect to find your son fighting for his life. I am really happy to say he is making a good recovery and he is coming out of intensive care today.”

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “Officers found a 28-year-old man had been stabbed twice by two offenders. A second man, 28, was also stabbed. He had left the scene and taken himself to hospital.

“His injuries are not believed to be life threatening.  Two people from Derby were subsequently arrested.” Wounded Peter Jnr ran back to the bar for help and staff attended to him outside until paramedics arrived.”

A Bubble Room spokeswoman said: “We’d like to make a special mention to our team who had to deal with a serious situation.

“A man approached our doors asking for help as he had been seriously injured up the road.  Our team helped see to him and call an ambulance.”

It’s been said that Tommy was not given the shock news until the series ended.

Tommy and girlfriend Molly-Mae Hague came second in last night’s final to winners Amber Gill and Greg O’Shea.
