Fans of Love Island have blasted Amber Gill for cruelly insulting love rival Joanna Chimonides, after she found out Michael Griffiths had recoupled with the newbie.
Amber returned from Casa Amor to find Michael had fallen for Joanna and she shot Joanna some harsh words by calling her a “dead ting”. According to Urban dictionary, the term means someone who is “boring and extremely dull”.
Amber muttered the insult under her breath as she came to terms with the fireman dumping her.
Amber told the girls: “I’ll be fine. She’s a dead ting so what am I supposed to be like, upset?”
Unfortunately, Joanna overheard Amber’s dig and agreed with Michael that it was uncalled for and childish.
Amber also refused to acknowledge Joanna as the newbies met the original Islanders.
Viewers were soon voicing their thoughts on beautician Amber’s behaviour towards Joanna, with many criticising her choice of words.
“So the first thing that Amber does is call Joanna a “Dead Ting”. I didn’t think I could hate this girl more,” tweeted one viewer.
A second added: “Catching up on Love Island before work and as much as I feel sorry for Amber, calling Joanna a dead ting is just mean and not true at all! Does my head in.”
Another person wrote: “Amber’s actually so childish calling Joanna a dead ting.”
And a fourth fan agreed and posted: “Amber, please do everybody a favour and never refer to anyone as a “dead ting” ever again… thank you.”
