Fans of This Morning were not best pleased to see Mark Wright back on the show today as he filled in for regular host Phillip Schofield.
Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford usually front the Friday shows in place of Phil and Holly Willoughby – but Ruth has been absent for the past couple of weeks following the death of her sister Julia.
With Rochelle holding the presenting reins for Hols last December during I’m A Celebrity, the former Saturdays singer has staked her claim to be called up as a dependable back up when needed.
But viewers were at a loss at how Mark had managed to get a spot on the sofa again, with dozens expressing on Twitter how unimpressed they were with his ‘awkward’ performance.

The 32-year-old former reality show cast member recently described a previous presenting appearance on the ITV daytime show as one of his “biggest achievements”.
But Mark, married to ex-Corrie star Michelle Keegan, was given the thumbs down for his return, with some observers describing his appearance as “painful”.
“Mark Wright is so bad I almost wish John Barrowman was doing it. Almost #ThisMorning,” tweeted one person.
“Tbf, Mark Wright was stretching himself to be in the Matalan ad. #thismorning is way beyond his capabilities…” added another viewer.

Another questioned: “Who bloody gave the job to Mark Wright? Cringeeeee #thismorning.”
“Mark Wright presenting. Not for me #ThisMorning,” concluded another person.
And someone else added: “Mark Wright on live TV is to painful to watch.”
Others claimed the former TOWIE fave’s presence was enough to put them off watching the programme.

“Can’t watch my favourite programme this morning, these two totally out of their depth, and Mark Wright should be take elocution lessons,” tweeted one person.
“Are you joking #ThisMorning? Mark Wright? I feel like you don’t even want me to watch anymore! The show is really going downhill these days!” contributed another.
Referring to Mark and Rochelle’s chat with James Brolin, another remarked: “A great actor but the interview was awful. Mark and Rochelle made me cringe that I could hardly watch.”
However, not everyone was disappointed to see Mark on their TV screens.
A fan tweeted: “Loving Mark Wright today and looking forward to seeing more of him.”
“Mark Wright is doing a fab job. The best stand in for Phillip,” claimed another.
And a third enthused: “Mark Wright should present This Morning more! #ThisMorning.”
