Mary Berry mix-up
Speaking about the drugs mix-up, Mary explained: “I was going to the US to do some cookery demonstrations and was worried that there might be problems so I weighed out all the ingredients – flour, sugar – and put them all in little plastic bags. When I arrived at the airport the sniffer dogs made a beeline for me.”
The chef said the airport became very empty very quickly – and she was soon “surrounded”.
“Suddenly I was surrounded by uniformed people and my assistant and I were put in separate cells.”
When I was asked if I was going to make money from the stuff, I said: ‘I do and my fee has already been agreed.’
The former Great British Bake Off star – on TV this weekend (July 6) with her Cook & Share series – said the experience was “alarming”. However, poor Mary clearly didn’t help her own case while being questioned by the cops.
She was asked if she was going to make money from her “white packets”.
Mary added: “When I was asked if I was going to make money from the stuff, I said: ‘I do and my fee has already been agreed.'”
