Celebrity Gogglebox star Dame Maureen Lipman has told the Loose Women panel that she won’t be returning to the cast of the show
Dame Maureen, who plays Evelyn Plummer in Coronation Street, was on the ITV daytime show today (November 30).
And she was quizzed by panellist Janet Street-Porter about walking off the celebrity edition of the show earlier this year.
What did Maureen say about being part of the Celebrity Gogglebox cast?
Janet said: “I want to ask you about Gogglebox. You were wonderful. Are you not going to be on it any more?”
Dame Maureen laughed and replied: “I’ve seen all the male tackle I need to see for this lifetime to be honest.”

Her blunt answer left Janet, along with fellow hosts Coleen Nolan, Denise Welch and Ruth Langsford, in giggles.
The actor, also known for her BT commercials back in the 1980s, went on to make a series of shocked and horrified exclamations.
She added that her Gogglebox telly husband, Gyles Brandreth, loves doing it but she was disappointed with the final edit.
“We had such a good time but none of the clever things we said went into it,” she said.
“So. No.”
Why did Maureen Lipman walk off of Gogglebox?
Maureen caused a stir in the summer when she walked off of the C4 show after being shown a clip from Naked Attraction.
Speaking to Radio Times in June, she said: “I’d seen Gogglebox and I thought: ‘Oh, [ours] is the grown-up version, is it?’”

Maureen then described the moment she and watching partner Gyles were made to watch the infamous dating show.
She said: “I’m going to go on, and make a lot of comment now about the oeuvre and ‘I did like his first trilogy, but then I felt in some ways that perhaps over the years…’ But it’s your reaction to 12 dangling willies they want.
“They’re searching for ways to make me go: ‘Urgh!’ So I thought: ‘Well, actually, no, life is too short to watch a series of hopeless men dangle their bits and pieces in my direction. So I’m going.'”
Maureen has previously spoken about the experience on This Morning: “I thought that I was going into something where I was going to be a sort of female Will Self and I was going to comment on people.
“However, it’s cut in favour of us going ‘Ew!’ and ‘What’s that? Oh, I didn’t realise people were growing aubergines like that?”
What else did Maureen say on Loose Women today?
The star also told the panel about her Corrie role and how the pandemic still affects filming on the ITV soap, revealing social distancing is still very much a thing.
“We’re still two metres apart, we’re not allowed to touch anything. We do our own make-up, we do our own hair.”
