Mystery over missing Celebrity Big Brother star on launch night

Viewers puzzled as promised guest fails to appear

Celebrity Big Brother viewers were left puzzled when a promised guest failed to materialise during launch night.

The show’s official Twitter account had confirmed former CBB winner Sarah Harding would be joining Rylan Clark-Neal on spinoff show Bit On The Side.

But when the programme began, there was no sign of Sarah…

And absolutely zero mention during the whole of BOTS about just what happened to her.

Confusing, right?

Well, viewers certainly thought so, taking to Twitter to question just where the Girls Aloud star had gone!

Very odd.

Sarah herself had even promoted the appearance earlier that day, retweeting a Big Brother fan account’s announcement of the spinoff show lineup.

So far, there’s been no word from Sarah on why she was unable to attend the taping.

Perhaps she was just unwell?

Or maybe Storm Eleanor caused havoc to her travel plans?

Either way, there were plenty of other celebrity guests for viewers to watch including TOWIE’s Megan McKenna, ex Big Brother champ Kate Lawler, comedian Jenny Eclair and Hollyoaks actress Chelsee Healey.

And, of course, host Rylan overseeing proceedings!

The 21st series of Celebrity Big Brother kicked off with a twist: an all-female cast of housemates to mark 100 years since women got the vote.

Viewers watched as eight ladies – including Corrie icon Amanda Barrie, former MP Anne Widdecombe and Made In Chelsea’s Ashley James – entered the house.

Also taking part are Kardashian BFF Malika Haqq, the UK’s first transgender newsreader, India Willoughby, Ex On The Beach star Jess Impiazzi and journalist Rachel Johnson.

Completing the lineup is former detective Maggie Oliver, who helped crack the horrific Rochdale sex grooming gang.

While it’s all ladies for now, the men will start to arrive from Friday.

The first confirmed gentleman to enter the house is former footballer John Barnes, while other males will reportedly include Boyzone’s Shane Lynch and Love Island’s Jonny Mitchell.

Celebrity Big Brother airs nightly at 9pm on Channel 5.
