Loose Women panellist Nadia Sawalha has admitted she would take her own life if she was diagnosed with dementia.
On Tuesday’s edition of Loose Women, the topic of conversation was: “Cruel to consider a ‘dementia divorce’?”
Nadia opened up about how she is “petrified” of getting the disease and said that she’s already told her husband Mark that she would “end” her life if she was to ever have the illness.
The 54-year-old told her fellow panellists: “It really, really frightens so many of us, there’s so much about dementia and Alzheimer’s, it’s like everything we open, we’re reading about it. I can’t imagine what it must be like.”
She explained that she “wouldn’t want” her hubby to look after her.

She continued: “I’ve said to him, we’ve had the conversation that if I was to be diagnosed [with dementia], I would end my life.
“I wouldn’t know when I’ve crossed over from that, and Mark says to me, ‘what about those vows, in sickness and in health?’ But I just can’t take that on.”
Meanwhile, the other panellists opened up about the illness.

Coleen Nolan spoke about her mother’s Alzheimer’s on the show.
She expressed how hard it was to see her suffering so badly towards the end of her life.
“For me, with my mother, we all dealt with it in a completely different way,” the 53-year-old said.
“There were times when, and I’ve said this before, I would go to bed and pray ‘Please, let her go in her sleep.'”
