New details emerge about Britain’s Got Talent: Champion of Champions amid pay rumours

Expenses only for SuBo

With series 13 of Britain’s Got Talent edging towards its live shows, more details have emerged about the exciting Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions spin-off series.

Reports suggested that some of the series’ biggest names are lined up to appear in a bid to be crowned champion of champions.

But further reports since emerged claiming all is not well in the camp, with contestants such as Susan Boyle and Paul Potts set to be paid expenses only.

A source quoted in The Mirror says: “Many of the BGT winners are highly sought after but they are just being offered expenses, which some find insulting.

“These aren’t unknowns, they are experienced performers who have carved out very profitable careers since.”

“Many feel they can’t turn down the show as it gave them such a platform in the first place – but it’s put a few noses out of joint.”

Contestants lined up for the spin-off series include, according to Metro, Collabro, Tokio Myers, Susan Boyle and Paul Potts.

However, a Got Talent source told ED!: “The show will feature both the best of BGT acts and those from other Got Talent shows around the world competing for a cash prize and, most importantly, the honour of being named BGT Champion of Champions.”

“Each act will, of course, be paid all expenses which is entirely normal and appropriate for major television shows around the world.

“This is the ultimate celebration of Got Talent and the feedback so far has been that acts can’t wait to take part and show their skills in front of a huge TV audience of millions.

“Everyone at Got Talent is hugely excited.”

Meanwhile, an official spokesperson for the show told us: “Britain’s Got Talent is currently averaging almost 10 million viewers per episode once again demonstrating the UK public’s enduring enjoyment of the show – for which the whole Got Talent family are incredibly grateful.

“As a result, for now, everyone is focussing on making next week’s live shows as entertaining and exciting as possible for the watching audience at home.”
