Jack Branning has got his eye on a new love interest in EastEnders – and it’s NOT Mel Owen.
Fans have been all over the chemistry between Honey Mitchell and Jack for months now, predicting an affair between the pair is on its way and they could be finally right.
It all begins with an improbable plan from a guilt-ridden Tina Carter.
At the opening night of the all-new E20 this week, Tina’s on a mission to get Honey and Billy back together after her and Billy’s one-night stand.
First up in her plan, is to get them both in the same place at the same time.

So she ropes in Jack to help and convinces him to invite Honey along to the club’s opening party.
Jack agrees, because he’s still smitten with Ronnie-a-like Mel and he reckons turning up with Honey could make Mel jealous.
When Jack and Honey arrive, Tina puts the next part of her plan into action.
She tells Billy to get Honey drunk and win back her affection once she’s loosened up and in a more forgiving sort of mood.
But things don’t go well as things are prone to do in soapland.
Honey gets drunk just as Billy wanted, but instead of focusing on her estranged hubby, she flirts with Jack instead. (Wouldn’t we all…)
Fans have been predicting an affair for Jack and Honey for months now, ever since even before his wife Ronnie Mitchell was drowned in her own wedding dress.
The pair have exchanged more furtive glances between each other than almost every other non-couple in Walford.
