Dozens of viewers have complained to TV watchdog Ofcom for claims of racist and homophobic comments made by some of the celebrities in the Big Brother house.
Some of the complaints were in relation to Saturday night’s episode where housemates Paul Danan and Karthik Nagesan had an argument over Karthik accusing Paul of racism.
Apprentice star Karthik, who was born in India, accused Paul of racism when he mispronounced his name as “Qatar”, but Paul wasn’t going to take that lying down and he furiously hit back: “I know your [expletive] name.”

But it didn’t end there, and we then saw the two of them get heated in another argument about the alleged racism. Paul got angry and told Karthik he was “out of order” to play the “racist card”.
Paul continued to shout at his fellow housemate when he said: “If you ever [expletive] do that again I ain’t gonna be happy.
“I’m not going to be happy if you dare to play the racist card again.
“If you’re not happy with your name and you need to be called K, change it.”
He was swiftly called into the diary room to talk about the situation. While he was there he was told: “During your conversation Karthik misheard you and thought you had said Qatar.
“With that in mind it is understandable that Karthik may have thought that you were potentially using racist language as it’s the name of a Middle Eastern airline and therefore could be seen as demeaning and inappropriate.
“Can you see it from his side?”
Paul replied: “Absolutely I can, I completely can understand. If people say Danan wrong it really grates on me.
“If there is an airline that is very similar and it’s Middle East. It is proper politics.”
Some viewers obviously weren’t happy with Paul and complained to Ofcom. Many more people took to social media to give their opinion and one viewer tweeted: “I do think Paul purposely mispronouncing Karthik’s name had semi-racist undertones. He wouldn’t do it to someone with an English name.”
Last night’s episode was the source of other complaints as some told Ofcom that during Sarah Harding’s segment they felt that alcoholism, substance abuse, sexism and bullying were being promoted.
Three complaints have been made about Brandi’s dress when she entered the CBB house, as it was low cut and regarded as too revealing. Other complaints were made in relation to an alleged homophobic comment, which hasn’t been divulged, and food waste as Jordan Davies carried a fish around the house.
An Ofcom spokesperson told The Sun: “We will assess these complaints before deciding whether or not to investigate.”
We will find out on tonight’s episode who will be the first to be evicted from the house, with Sarah Harding, Trisha Paytas, Karthik Nagesan, Chad Johnson and Marissa Jade all nominated.
