Outraged Good Morning Britain viewers mock “love guru” guest’s advice

He charges HOW MUCH?

| Updated:

Despite the best efforts of dating apps and the like, finding a partner just doesn’t seem to get any easier (maybe it’s just us).

So you can understand why some people might want to seek advice from an expert to move things along a bit.

However, when one such ‘international love guru’ appeared on Good Morning Britain today, viewers were left shocked by how much he charges for his advice.

And it was even suggested that he was commanding his massive fee for “stating the obvious”.

Matthew Hussey, 30, is a dating columnist for Cosmopolitan magazine, and also runs a successful website, Get The Guy.

His Twitter account boasts more than 68,000 followers, while his celebrity ‘fans’ include A-list actresses Eva Longoria and Tyra Banks.

But all of this experience doesn’t come cheap – it was revealed that Hussey charges some clients a whopping £8,000 an hour!

During his appearance on the ITV breakfast show, he shared some of his tips with Ben Shephard, Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins.

Hussey explained: “No one comes to me saying: ‘I want to attract the average guy.’ Everyone wants to attract extraordinary, and to do that you have to be extraordinary.

“I believe it’s a thing called unique pairings. If a woman meets a guy who’s just a gentleman, he becomes really boring. If a guy is just fun, he’s hard to pin down and unreliable.

“If a guy is charming and a gentleman but has got a bit of edge, that’s the guy who people get addicted to.

“It’s two unique qualities you don’t usually find in the same person.”

Hussey – who’s originally from Essex but now lives in Los Angeles – also shared some wisdom on how to behave on a date.

He said: “A lot of people go on a date where it becomes a CV exercise, asking a lot of questions.

“Everyone has to go for emotion. Not what do you do for a living, why do you do that for a living. It actually allows you to connect with someone.”

It all sounded pretty interesting, but viewers at home were less than convinced by the life coach.

One scoffed: “Sounds very much like £8,000 an hour for stating the obvious. Unbelievable!”

Another added: “‘International love guru’ who charges £8k an hour. I smell BS!”

And a third said: “Love guru, my [expletive]!!!!! You’re just a boy yourself – what do you know about love? Joker.”

Well, I guess it’s a moot point anyway, as we don’t even have eight grand…
