Strictly star Paul Merson was axed from the programme on Sunday night after he only won 19 points from the judges.
It seemed that the panel wasn’t overly impressed with Paul’s Samba to Car Wash by R&B group, Rose Royce. The football star and Karen Hauer faced off against JB Gill and Amy Dowden, but sadly for the pair, they didn’t win over the judges.

However, it seems that it was about the right time to pack it in as Paul is now struggling with post-Strictly-pain.
Paul has even said he is struggling to walk to the shops – never mind twirl across the dance floor.
Reflecting on his time on the show, Paul explained his thoughts on Sky Sports’ Soccer Special on Tuesday, stating: “I was pleased Sky let me do it, I’ve got to thank them for that, it was amazing.
“I loved doing it. It was good fun, it was probably just the right time, I’ll probably just say the right time.”
Julian Warren asked Paul: “The body was telling you that?,” to which he admitted: “Yeah, my knee.
Axed Strictly star Paul Merson opens up about struggle with pain
“My ankle’s sore, but yeah I loved it. You know, I won because I can dance now, I didn’t have a clue how to dance and I am a confident dancer now. I could get up and dance with anybody now.”
Paul has since taken to social media and thanked fans for their support whilst he was on the show. He also admitted that due to his sore knee and ankle, without the use of CBD oil, he doubts he would have been able to go ahead with the show.
He wrote to X: “I was in agony this morning struggling to walk then I realised I forgot to take my [CBD] oil. I have been dancing 7 days a week and honestly this is the only thing that got me through it.”
In the clip chatting to his followers, Paul concluded: “I forgot to take my oil today and I am struggling walking to the shop.”
Evidently, Paul’s time on the show came to an end at the right time for the star. Regardless, we’re sure viewers will miss him!
