It’s the Coronation Street reunion every wants to see happen and it looks like it could be on the cards as Carla Connor and Peter Barlow grow closer next week.
Peter has recently split from partner Toyah Battersby after finding out she lied to him about baby Susie being his daughter.
In actuality Susie is the child of Eva Price and tragic Aidan Connor who took his own life back in May.
But Toyah had let Peter believe the baby was their biological child who was being carried by a surrogate.
In truth, the surrogate had lost their baby boy earlier this year and Toyah didn’t tell Peter that their child had died.
When Peter found out the truth he was heartbroken and disgusted in equal measure and can’t even bring himself to be in the same room as his ex now.
And Carla takes full advantage of this situation next week when she decides that Peter could be a useful ally as the Connors plough ahead with their plan to get custody of Susie.
Peter spots Alya accusing Carla of fiddling with her orders after discovering she’s made 3000 units too many for a big order Underworld had.
Carla strenuously denies any wrong doing and when Peter comes over to find out what all the fuss is about Carla turns her charm up to full beam.
She opens up to Peter as she thinks he could be a good person to have onside.
At the Bistro the brunette flirts shamelessly with her old flame before she tells him that they could do with having some evidence to prove that Susie would be better off with Johnny and Jenny.
But what will Peter say? Surely he’s had enough duplicity to last him a lifetime?
Well apparently not because later in the week Johnny is delighted when Peter shows him the birth certificate.
Meanwhile Toyah is left heartbroken when she asks Peter if he’s getting back with Carla and he doesn’t deny it. Is a reunion really on the cards or is Carla just toying with him?
Peter and Carla were married but didn’t last long as he was having a secret affair with barmaid Tina McIntyre which kicked off on their wedding night.

When Tina was murdered, Peter was the prime suspect and he even went to prison for it before Carla’s brother, Rob Donovan was finally unmasked as the culprit.
