Piers Morgan has criticised Ant McPartlin after he was nominated for a National Television Award again.
Ant, 41, has been nominated for Best Presenter at this year’s NTAs alongside his telly partner Dec Donnelly, even though he took an extended break from work commitments last year.
During Tuesday’s Good Morning Britain, Piers claimed Ant has just been “walking his dog for a year” and doesn’t deserve to win the award.

Ahead of this evening’s ceremony at London’s O2 Arena, Piers said: “It’s like Ant and Dec always winning it even though Ant hasn’t worked for a year.
Good Morning Britain is also up for nomination alongside other daytime shows, including This Morning and Loose Women.
He continued: “Imagine if Ant McPartlin actually wins tonight and we don’t.
“Imagine Britain, if that is a reasonable way to conduct the awards season business, seriously.”
He added: “If it is, I’m taking next year off and I’m going to walk my dog. I don’t even have a dog but if I did have a dog I would take it on a long walk every day in the expectation that the British public would then vote for me as presenter of the year for dog walking.
If @GMB loses at the @OfficialNTAs tonight & Ant McPartlin wins, I’m taking next year off to walk my dog.

“And I intend to do that, if I can find a dog.”
It comes after it was revealed the Geordie duo are unable to attend the awards ceremony due to a clash with Britain’s Got Talent filming.
The talent show’s judges Simon Cowell, David Walliams, Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon will also miss the glitzy event, held at London’s O2 Arena on Tuesday evening.

Ant and Dec will compete against Graham Norton, Bradley Walsh, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby, who stepped in to host I’m A Celebrity alongside Donnelly in November in Ant’s absence, for the presenting prize.
The National Television Awards, hosted by Dermot O’Leary, will be broadcast live on ITV on January 22 from The O2, London.
