He joked: “Is there any movement on me getting that role of your love interest? My agent has heard nothing.”
But Kym was quick to laugh off his banter – joking that she would meet him in the soap’s new community garden set.

When Kym laughed that she would love some onion bhajis, Piers joked: “I knew you were a cheap date Ms Marsh, but not that cheap!
“You know what, I’m going to throw the boat out here. I’m going to meet you at the end of the cobbled streets and sneak you off for some scraps and gravy, because I know how to treat a lady.”
