TV’s Richard Madeley was mistaken for a Corrie actor in an awkward moment on Good Morning Britain.
The presenter, 63, co-hosted the programme today (23.08.19) alongside Ranvir Singh, 42, as they welcomed grime artist Big Narstie and singer Spice into the studio.

The pair were on to chat ahead of their performance at Notting Hill Carnival this weekend when Big Narstie admitted to thinking Richard was an actor from Coronation Street.
He said: “You’re the Coronation Street man. I thought you was the the Coronation Street man. You look like old school James Bond. Like Stingray or Pussy Galore. That’s who I thought you were.”
Richard, seemingly unimpressed, replied: “I’m not from Coronation Street, mate.”
Ranvir then suggested that Big Narstie might have taken the daytime TV legend for actor Nigel Havers, who played Weatherfield’s Lewis Archer.
Richard admitted it’s not the first time the likeness has been pointed out and jokingly said sorry to Nigel, telling the camera: “I can only apologise. And I’m not an actor.”
Big Narstie revealed that the mix-up might have been down to a lack of sleep, as he admitted he hadn’t managed to get any shut-eye before coming on to GMB – and his mum had reminded him about the interview.
He said: “It’s hardcore, bruv. It’s the hardcore life. Two kids man.”
Richard, who has been presenting on GMB while regular anchor Piers Morgan enjoys time off for the summer, is never far from a gaffe or two.
On Wednesday’s episode, the stand-in host took co-host Sean Fletcher by surprise when he asked him if he was bald.
Richard made the comment after discussing Match Of The Day presenter, Gary Lineker, and his joke about baldness at the weekend.
Turning to Sean, Richard said: “Do you have very short hair because you are going bald?”
Looking offended, Sean, 45, replied: “No, I’m, no… that get’s me there [hitting himself in the chest]. That hurts. Ouch!”

And last week, Richard had GMB viewers in stitches with a hilarious maths blunder.
He was chatting with co-hosts Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins about students’ attitudes towards alcohol when he made the gaffe, as he said: “I think it’s because everybody, students and the rest of us, lie about how much they drink. Apparently if you tell the GP how much you drink he immediately… or she… doubles it by two.”
