Grant Mitchell, one of the most popular EastEnders characters of all time, might be back in Walford soon – if actor Ross Kemp has anything to do with it.
In news that will delight fans of the BBC soap, Ross has revealed that he’d love to return especially as he’s so impressed with new show boss John Yorke.
In a new interview with Metro.co.uk, the 53-year-old actor gave fans hope when he said: “It’s a great job to have and I often think it would be lovely to be back in a soap.

However, he did add: “But I am doing something else.”
Ross left the BBC soap in 1999, but has made several returns as Grant Mitchell over the years in dramatic storylines.
Since leaving the popular serial drama, he has travelled the globe tackling hard-hitting subjects such as gang cultures, the war in Afghanistan and the battle for the protection of the Amazon.
Despite his new award-winning career, Ross clearly still has time to watch his fave soap and told the newspaper he’s a big fan of new boss John Yorke.
He said: “He’s done a brilliant job. I worked with John Yorke when he was very young – he’s a fantastic producer, and the show’s going from strength to strength.
“He’s got a fantastic cast and I miss it very much. But he is fantastic, and I have the utmost respect for him, there are new characters coming back in and it’s great.”

Grant was last seen on the soap back in 2016, where he returned to say goodbye to his mother Peggy Mitchell who was dying of breast cancer.
He left later in the year with his daughter Courtney, with the pair moving to Portugal together.
So, if and when he DOES return, we can expect the soap ledge to have a nice sun tan!
