Saira Khan was left shocked as Janet Street Porter accused her of ‘stealing her children’s childhoods’ by posting photos of them on social media.
During Tuesday’s Loose Women, the panel were discussing whether they should ask their kids before posting pictures of them online before they are allowed their own social media accounts.
Dancing On Ice star Saira said she believes it’s up to her whether she shares images of her children.

She said: “I have quite a lot to say about this subject. I use social media for inspiration, motivation and my followers they want to see what I’m like, not just on telly, but behind the scenes, and I’m a mother.
“So I do post pictures of us on holiday, this is what I’m giving them for breakfast, this is how I get rid of their dry skin, this is him growing up.”
When asked if she ever asks her children about posting the photos, Saira said: “No, I don’t ask them what they’re having for breakfast, they’re having this and that’s it.
“They’re 10 and eight and I just think I’m their parent. To be honest they’ve never said, ‘oh that’s really embarrassing don’t post that mum.'”
However, Janet had a strong opinion on Saira’s actions and hit back: “Well they’re too young to understand the implications. You have stolen their childhood.”
As Saira’s jaw dropped and the audience gasped, Janet continued: “I feel really strongly that posting pictures of children under the age of consent, before they are legally able to control their lives, you have stolen their childhood.
“They will look back when they’re 16 and 17 and they might have a very different view about what your doing now.
“The pictures of my childhood, the black and white in mum’s old photo album. You took a picture and you stuck it in a book.

“Now, you feel it’s perfectly okay to tell the world, people you’ve never met, [about your life].”
Ruth Langsford asked Saira: “Are you not worried that there are other people looking at those pictures for different reasons?”
Saira replied: “Well I don’t because I don’t see the world as a negative and bad place.”
