Where to start with this one? He sexually abused his daughter Ronnie when she was a child then – when she fell pregnant with her boyfriend’s baby – he took the little girl from her and told Ronnie she’d died. He raped Stacey Slater while she was in the middle of a breakdown. He manipulated and controlled Peggy while they were together – changing how she dressed and distancing her from the rest of the family.

Then there was the whole thing with blackmailing Ian and stealing the Vic off of Peggy and not to mention the way he treated his own granddaughter Danielle after discovering she was Ronnie’s long-lost daughter, telling her Ronnie knows who she is and wanted to pay her to leave. What a rotter.

Jez Quigley

His horrible little face still makes us feel chills. Jez terrorised the residents of Coronation Street back in the late 90s – particularly Leanne – who he got hooked on cocaine, Steve – who he had battered half to death and Tony Horrocks – who he beat and locked in a cellar until he died.

Jez eventually got his comeuppance when a furious Jim McDonald put him in hospital for what he’d done to Steve. One ruptured spleen later and Jez was no more.

Trevor Morgan

Who could forget Little Mo Slater’s psychotic and violent ex-husband Trevor? We all hated him for abusing mousy little Mo and making her life hell. He did a lot of horrible things to the woman he claimed to love but it was smashing her face into her Christmas dinner, before pouring gravy all over her head and making her eat off the floor that will stick with us.

Trevor eventually got his just desserts when he died in a fire which – fittingly – he started.

May Wright

Mad May was about as psycho a villain as pre-watershed EastEnders could get away with. The local GP became increasingly unhinged when she discovered her husband Rob was having an affair with Dawn Swann. Yes, very Doctor Foster indeed.

Except May was much more bonkers than Gemma could even dream of being and – when she discovered Dawn was preggo with Rob’s baby – she plotted to get the child at any cost. She kidnapped Dawn, tied her to a bed and threatened to perform a c-section. Terrifying!

Eventually the doctor died in a gas explosion after a failed attempt at kidnapping Dawn’s baby daughter, Summer.

Jenny’s dad in Corrie was a bad, bad man. He had a long-term relationship with Rita which went sour when she exposed him as a fraudster after finding out he’d borrowed money against her house.

Alan paid Rita back by trying to smother her with a pillow, but he failed and went to prison. He wasn’t one to forgive and forget though and after his release he tracked Rita down to Blackpool where he tried to kill her again.

Sadly – not – Alan was hit by a tram in one of Corrie’s most iconic death scenes of all time.

Silas Blissett

Hollyoaks’ self-styled Slut Slayer, Silas is the only one of this motley crew who has managed to evade justice. He murdered several women, including his own daughter Heidi Costello by mistake.

At the height of his twistedness, he held a very pregnant Mercedes McQueen hostage in a cellar, after she confessed to having an affair with Heidi’s husband and her boyfriend’s dad, Carl.

He was last seen in 2016 murdering Lindsay Butterfield AKA The Glove Handed killer after finding out she had an adulterous past.
