SPOILER ALERT: EastEnders’ cast member departure revealed

Gutted to see them go

Okay, folks, so this could possible be a spoiler, so perhaps be wary about reading this story.

Last week there was a rumour that one of the younger cast members of EastEnders had quit the show after footage of someone’s leaving party had been posted online.

And now we can reveal that the person being given the send off was Aaron Sidwell, who plays Steven Beale.

In spite of the fact that he is slap bang in the middle of one of  the soap’s most controversial storylines, the handsome actor has decided to move on.

So what does that mean for Steven who is getting up to no good at the moment?

As viewers will know, the conniving rascal has convinced his girlfriend Lauren to marry him after he told her that he was dying from a brain tumour.

Of course none of what he says is true and is all just part of a devious revenge plan.

But now we know that Aaron is quitting, we can’t help but wonder what the outcome will be to the storyline?

Does this mean Steven actually does avenge Lauren?

Or does she find out in time he’s been lying to her all this time and kick him to the kerb before tying the knot?

Or in a shocking twist of fate does Steven actually go and kick the bucket?

We know there is a big motorway pile up storyline coming soon so could he be the victim in that?

Well, as you can expect, the soap’s team are keeping what will play out close to their chests for the time being, but we will find out over the next six weeks how Steven departs.

“The outcome of the storyline is being kept under wraps,” a source told The Sun.

“He’s sworn to secrecy and so is everyone else in the cast and crew.”

Oooh, we can’t wait to find out.

If you’re wondering why Aaron is quitting the soap, it’s not because Albert Square is such as dismal place (though that’s good enough reason to start with) –  he wants to get back to his first love of theatre.

The actor, who starred in a West End version of cult classic Grease 2 called Cool Rider a couple of years ago, has been bombarded with stage offers, including a role in a touring version of Wicked.
