Strictly Come Dancing 2020 will see some major changes as the BBC scrambles to have the show ready in time.
Covid-19 has sparked chaos for producers, with reports claiming that the beloved dance competition will be undergoing 100 format changes to ensure the safety of its cast and crew.
According to The Sun, preparations for this year’s series are more complicated than ever as guidelines keep changing.
“Preparing for this year’s show is a huge headache. The goalposts keep moving, so the big decisions are being left to the last minute so we’re as up to date as possible,” said a source close to the show.
“Making one hit series is hard enough. As things stand, we are having to plan for hundreds.
“The slightest change to the rules could have a massive impact on how the show is filmed,” added the source.

Big changes to Strictly 2020
For starters, it looks as if behind the scenes of the show will look wildly different from last year.
Reportedly a quarter of the usual number of crew members will be returning this year to help get the show on screen every weekend.
The show’s judges will also have to keep their entourage to a minimum, and friends and family are apparently banned from the set.
“Everything in terms of people is being scaled back dramatically. There will be less security because there’s no audience to control,” said the source.
It’s bad news for lovers of Strictly’s results show performers, as BBC bosses have deemed it too risky to invite big-name stars to belt out hits.
They added: “It’ll be a very different show this year for everyone, from the top to the bottom.”
The latest reports come after fans were devastated by the news that Bruno Tonioli would be missing the latest series.
Bruno missing Strictly?
The Strictly star, 64, usually travels from Los Angeles to film the show, but with quarantine guidelines in full effect that won’t be possible this year.
However, it’s not all doom and gloom.

The TV star will now reportedly make his comeback during this year’s finale show.
A source told Daily Star: “Bruno will jet back to the UK when he’s finished with his US commitments.
“There will be enough time for him to do two weeks in quarantine if needed. And then he will be free to make his big comeback on Strictly.”
