Strictly: Anton Du Beke addresses whether he’ll return as judge next year

Anton addressed his role as a judge on Strictly next year

Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke has spoken out about whether his role as a judge will continue next year.

The former pro was drafted in as Covid regulations made it too tough for regular judge Bruno Tonioli to jump between the UK and the United States.

Speaking to OK Magazine, Anton revealed that he actually doesn’t know if he’ll be returning as a judge or not.

He tells the publication: “I haven’t got anything to say about that because it’s not a decision I can make. We’ll leave that until next year I suppose.”

But Anton was happy to reveal that he’s loved his new role as a judge.

He also said a well known Strictly name gave him some tips.

He says: “Len Goodman called me and said, ‘The only advice I can give you is be yourself and say what you see.'”

Anton also says that the professional dancers are enjoying his time on the judging panel, despite some of them being new to the show.

Will Anton be a judge on Strictly Come Dancing 2022?

“Nikita [Kuzmin] came up to me last week and said, ‘I don’t know what you were like as a dancer and I didn’t see you as a competitor.’ He probably wasn’t born when I was competing!” Anton joked.

Elsewhere in Strictly land, Adam Peaty has revealed the secret injury which plagued him before his elimination.

He left the competititon at the weekend when the judges casted their votes.

“I can say this now, normally I’d keep this under wraps but my ankles were going, my calf was going,” he said.

“I was trying to do as many runs as I can but the jive is one of those dances that requires 150%.”

What did Adam say about his Strictly exit?

Adam and dance partner, Katya Jones, became the sixth couple to leave.

He said of his experience: “The judges have a role and I think they did that very fairly. I’ve got nothing against that and as a competitor, you’ve got to respect that and I have respect for that.

“But it is what it is, isn’t it? I gave absolutely everything to Katya, I gave absolutely everything to myself but hopefully, we gave a good laugh to everyone at home.”
