As regular TV watchers will know, Aston Merrygold doesn’t do things by halves.
Not content with appearing on The X Factor – his band JLS finished second in 2008 – he took another stab at TV talent contests with a stint on last year’s Strictly.
And the 30-year-old has now revealed that he’d like to father a second child – just two months after his partner Sarah Lou Richards gave birth to a baby boy, Grayson.
He told Express.co.uk: “We’ve both said if we ever did want to go again, two for us is a good number.”
And the Cambridgeshire-born singer added that the couple aren’t fussy about the sex of the second baby.
He said: “I never mind… The gender thing, we left it until he [Grayson] was born to find out that he was a boy, so we’re not pressured about finding out early or finding out if it’s a boy or a girl.
“Health is most important in this scenario. Don’t get me wrong – some of my friends were like: ‘Oh, you want a little boy. Oh, you want a little girl.’ But you just want a healthy baby.

“If that didn’t happen, you wouldn’t love them any different – it’s your baby at the end of the day. You just hope they’re as healthy as possible.”
Aston’s comments come just a few weeks after Strictly couple Aljaz Skorjanec and Janette Manrara revealed that they would love to have kids – but not yet.
The professional dancers, who got married last July, were interviewed by OK! magazine, with Janette explaining: “We’re family people and we do eventually want to have a family. For us, family is everything.
“But we are so happy with where our careers are at the moment that we want to enjoy it as much as we can. Then a little further down the line, we will get ready for a baby.

“There will definitely be a little Skorjanec running around at some point.”
Give it another 20 years, and maybe we’ll see some of these babies on Strictly Come Dancing!
