Are they? Aren’t they?
The question as to whether Strictly Come Dancing’s Mollie King and AJ Pritchard are dating has caused more tongues to wag than even the ongoing saga of Alexandra Burke’s alleged diva behaviour and meltdowns.
And the pair themselves have done little to dampen the glowing embers of gossip either, last week not disputing Claudia’s claims they only spent ‘half’ their rehearsal time kissing after the audience called for them to share a good old pash when it was revealed they were through to the semis.
So maybe that’s why Claudia couldn’t quite help herself on this Saturday’s show, referring to the pair’s potential love match as ‘the elephant in the room’.
Replying to her co-host Tess who had just told the audience, “I cannot wait to see all of that, and Mollie and AJ are doing a romantic waltz,” mischievous Claudia teased: “I think we’re all agreed it’s the right time to talk about the elephant in the room.”
Feigning confusion, an obviously in-on-it Tess hit back with: “What do you mean – are Mollie and AJ a couple or not?”
Claudia then tried to pretend she was talking about an actual elephant, as possibly the least subtle joke in the history of the BBC was revealed.
“No, that elephant in the room,” Claudia explained as the sound of an elephant trumping blasted through the studio.

Mollie and AJ’s ‘relationship’ has come under scrutiny throughout the series, with show sources claiming there has been backstage face licking and much closeness between the pair.
Speaking to The Sun last week, a Strictly insider revealed that the young couple have been seen ‘kissing, canoodling and even snogging while training’.
“It’s still very early days and they are not officially dating or in a relationship, but there’s a real chemistry and attraction between them,” the mole claimed.
“Everyone is talking about it backstage and they are desperate for them to become a couple.”
Not just backstage though given Claudia and Tess’s latest round of banter about the pair. Although it has to be said the constant quipping isn’t going down well with all viewers.
“Claudia’s ‘joke’ section each week is now becoming as cringey as the VTs. Just awful. That is the real elephant in the room,” one Twitter user declared last night.
Ouch.
