Strictly star Amy Dowden is still in “pain” following her recent hospitalisation, Giovanna Fletcher has revealed.
The reigning Queen of the Castle appeared on Good Morning Britain with Susanna Reid and Rob Rinder today (December 1) and shared the update.
Amy has moved in with his celebrity partner Tom Fletcher and his wife Giovanna and Gi said they’re looking after her “as a family”.
What did Giovanna say about Strictly star Amy?
Giovanna explained the circumstances leading up to Amy’s hospitalisation.
She revealed: “She had a flare up and she was at our house. Tom was with her, Sara Davies was with her, they were out for a walk.
“It was so bad she had to get an ambulance and had a hospital stay.”

Gi then explained why Amy has moved in with them.
“Since then, everyone in Strictly is in bubbles, so she can’t travel to the Midlands or Wales, so we just want her with us.”
She went on to explain that it’s the opposite of the Strictly curse, laughing that “it’s more of a hostage situation” for Amy.
“That’s stuff that isn’t focused on,” Gi said, “the friendships that can be made through Strictly. We adore her. We’ve gained a new family member.”

Gi also shared a health update on Amy, and it’s not all good news for the poor Strictly pro.
“She’s good. She was sat on the sofa last night and the colour is back in her cheeks,” Gi said.
However, she added: “She’s still got her hot water bottle and every now and then you can see that she is in pain.
“People with Crohn’s are living with pain but it’s nice to see the pink going back into her cheeks.”
What has Amy said about being in hospital?
Amy was taken to hospital in an ambulance on Friday night and, as a result, she missed the Strictly live show.
The star suffers from inflammatory bowel disease Crohn’s and had a flare up over the weekend.
She was taken to hospital in an ambulance and, because her fiancé Ben was away at their dance school, moved in with Tom and Giovanna, who looked after her.
“Thanks for the all messages over the weekend,” Amy said as she posed alongside Tom and Giovanna.
“Unfortunately, I was missing from the show as I had an unexpected Crohn’s flare up and hospital admission in which I received unbelievable care.
“I’m recovering very well and certainly being well looked after and look forward to returning to the dance floor.”
