Strictly star Dan Walker has taken to social media to blast questions why he’s still on the BBC One show.
Dan, who is partnered with Nadiya Bychkova, was responding to an article in a tabloid headlined: “How Is TV Dan Still In Show?”
Some fans had also questioned how Dan was still on the programme.
The BBC Breakfast host answered the question on his Instagram page.

Dan Walker defends position on Strictly
He wrote: “I’m not sure but we are incredibly thankful for all the support and it’s a true privilege to be a small part of the biggest show on the telly.
“I know articles like this are sourced from a few comments on social media but each week I get thousands of messages from people who love the show and are really enjoying watching @nadiyabychkova teaching me to dance.

“When I’ve watched Strictly in the past I have always liked seeing great dancers but also those who learn to love it and are working hard to improve every week. It’s a TV show and not the world championships.
“I never thought I would be able to do some of the things Nadiya has taught me. She has given me a confidence that I thought was way beyond me. I just want to learn as many dances as possible.
“Anyway… on with the American Smooth. Whoever you vote for this weekend… I hope you enjoy the show. I will continue to do it with a massive smile on my face.”
Dan’s fans also leaped to his defence, agreeing that the article was hurtful.
“Slow news day,” commented one of his 239k followers.
Another added: “Just love your enthusiasm Dan! Keeeeeep dancing!” [Sic]

“Love seeing your progress every week. You are doing amazing,” wrote another.
And a fourth said: “You are there because we vote for you. You bring joy to our screens.”
Dan, 44, and Nadia, 32, have been in the bottom three for three weeks in a row, leaving fans divided.
Some viewers have been left baffled as to how Dan hasn’t been sent home yet, taking to Twitter to ponder why.
One person said: “Who the hell is voting for Dan Walker!? It’s a travesty that good dancers have gone and he’s still in.”
Another wrote: “How is Dan still in. He is by far the worst dancer left.”
A third added: “#DanWalker how on earth is he still in it??”
Their comments came after Dan and Nadiya held on for another week, while Adam Peaty was voted off, leaving fans very unhappy.
“Omg how the hell has Dan stayed again? This is becoming a joke!” said another.

“Whoever is voting for him needs glasses – he can’t dance, he was definitely the worst tonight. I had a feeling Tilly [Ramsay] would be in the bottom two but she was better than Adam to be honest,” they added.
