Viewers of the BBC One dancing competition took to Twitter to say the judging panel, consisting of Shirley Ballas, Bruno Tonioli, Craig Revel-Horwood and Darcey Bussell, were favouring Susan Calman.
They reckoned she was unfairly overmarked, being given 27 points out of a possible 40 for her tango with partner, Kevin Clifton, while Mollie – who is generally considered a better dancer – was awarded just 22.
Former Strictly pro and series commentator for The Sun James Jordan said: “How the [expletive] did Susan get eights?
“She was way overmarked in comparison to someone like Mollie.
“When Mollie kept apologising I just wanted to give her a cuddle. She was genuine. Susan just kept crying.”
And viewers of the show agreed with him, swooping in to defend former Saturdays singer, Mollie, on Twitter.
One fan tweeted: “Pffft! The judges have been so mean to Mollie, I wouldn’t be surprised if ‘head bouncer’ Craig doesn’t let her grannie into the Tower Ballroom!”
Another added: “Just caught up and #Strictly and the marking for AJ and Mollie was absolutely disgusting! So glad they got through.”
A third said: “#Strictly The overmarking of Debbie is annoying me, Mollie always undermarked. Hope Alexandra wins.”
Other viewers called the judges out for their ‘favouritism’ towards certain contestants.
One wrote: “Calmen 5 more points than Mollie – what are the judges on? whatever it is I don’t want any cant do you any good #barmyscoring.”
While a second added: ” I watch Strictly to escape the unfair negativity in the world, not see more of it. I’m really not enjoying your inconsistency and favouritism.”

Mollie and AJ made it through to next week’s show which is the milestone Blackpool Tower Ballroom episode.
If Craig lets them on the coach up there, that is.
