Brendan Cole delivered such an emotional speech after he and his partner Charlotte Hawkins were booted out of the competition tonight, many viewers think he was actually saying goodbye to the show for good.
Either that, or a resignation – perhaps heave-ho – won’t be far behind.
The pro dancer said this was the series he’d enjoyed the most since the first… maybe he was just honestly delighted to have worked with the GMB newsreader.
But for many it was a death knoll…
Hmmm… what do you think? It’s definitely clear that he’s not been too happy with some of the criticism that has been levelled at him and Charlotte from the judging panel.
Is there a personality clash at play with him and new head judge Shirley Ballas? Or did the emotions of the night just get the better of him? He had just ‘got married’, after all…
Joking aside, it definitely felt like an extra tense results show from the outset, as the couples waited to discover who would face the third dance-off.
Davood Ghadami and his professional partner Nadia were the first couple announced.
They were joined later by Charlotte Hawkins and Brendan Cole.
Charlotte said ahead of her dance: “I’m really disappointed, I’ve tried to come back fighting this week, I’ve worked hard, it is what it is.”
And, er, what it was… was her getting booted out after Bruno, Darcey and Craig all decided to keep Davood.
Some viewers didn’t think Davood should even have been in the bottom two…
Charlotte took her departure with good grace. Thanks for the memories!
Ruth Langsford landed herself in hot water earlier today after revealing she’d survived ahead of the results show.
The Sunday episode is actually filmed after Saturday’s live show goes out.
And Ruth was so excited by the outcome that she Facebooked about it, evidently momentarily forgetting it would be a huge spoiler for viewers.
Her message didn’t let slip which celeb was leaving the show, but it clearly gave away some detail about the outcome, which upset some fans.
She quickly realised her error and pulled down the message, according to The Sun.
The Loose Women panellist isn’t the only contestant struggling with keeping it buttoned between Saturday’s recording of the episode and Sunday’s airing.
Last Sunday daytime, Debbie McGee actually revealed who’d been sent packing during an interview with BBC Radio Berkshire.
She clanged that she was “very sad” to see the Reverend Richard Coles head out of the competition – and that night viewers watched him get the bullet.
We’d struggle to keep it quiet, too – excitement would definitely get the better of us!
Debbie didn’t have her best experience on the show last night.
She only received a score of 27 for her Cha Cha Cha, with both Shirley Ballas and Darcey Bussell giving her a six.
Shirley in particular didn’t seem that enamoured with her routine.
She said: “For the Cha Cha, it was a bit of a balletic approach for me.
