Strictly Come Dancing star Debbie McGee is not a fan of swearing – so she and Giovanni Pernice have got their own naughty ‘code word’.
Debbie, who together with Giovanni came second in last year’s series of the BBC show, has now confessed to exactly what that word is…and admitted it came about after she dropped an actual F-bomb in his ear.
In an interview with Rufus Hound on Radio 4, the 59-year-old star said it all happened during a live group performance.

“I can let you into a little secret… because I never ever swear,” she told Rufus.
Debbie then explained that, as Giovanni often made reference to the fact she doesn’t use foul language, she decided to give him a shock while live on air.
She continued: “On a live show of Strictly, there was a group number that the pros did which was a fashion show going on a catwalk.
“The choreography in the song was ‘fashion look to the left,’ ‘fashion look to the right’, and then we were told to whisper in the ear to the person next to you, which was Giovanni.
“So on the live take, I leant across and swore in his ear!
“Ever since then we have a code word that, if I say ‘fashion’ to him, it means ‘f*** off’.”
Cheeky Debbie!
Debbie and 27-year-old Giovanni danced all the way to the final during last year’s series of Strictly.
The pair were just pipped to the Glitterball Trophy, however, by Joe McFadden and Katya Jones.
Debbie has remained good friends with her professional dance partner though.
Recently, she even interviewed him for her own show on BBC Radio Berkshire and was quick to tell listeners just how funny he is.
Chatting to her pal Gi, she said: “What I really love about it, Giovanni, is, I got to know you so well on Strictly.
“But on Strictly the audience get to know your dancing, but they don’t know how funny you are.”
