Susan Boyle has broken her silence over her absence from Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions and revealed the real reason she isn’t competing on the show.
The I Dreamed A Dream hitmaker, 58, appeared on Lorraine this week (04.09.19) to explain why she won’t be on the spin-off show, which got underway last weekend.

Speaking to presenter Ross King, she said she would have liked to have appeared on the programme but couldn’t because of “scheduling”.
She said in the clip: “You can’t really fit everything in. Just scheduling. Just the way things were. I’d have loved to have done it but… it’s just the way things were.”
It offers a somewhat different take to the explanation that Simon Cowell offered last week.
The music mogul claimed in an interview on the daytime show that SuBo was missing the programme because she did the American version.
While he had no idea who would be featuring on BGT: The Champions initially, Simon explained that he knew from the get-go that Susan would not make an appearance.
He said: “I don’t think she should have done it this year. She did AGT Champions. If this does well, we’ll do it again next year and it will be an annual event. You’ve got to save something.”

In the first episode of BGT: The Champions, series one winner Paul Potts faced the humiliation of being eliminated in the first round.
Afterwards, the opera singer spoke of his frustration at being axed so early on and appeared to partly blame a last-minute change in the routine.
The 48-year-old, who was criticised by Simon for a somewhat shaky start to his performance, wrote on Twitter: “Was little frustrated with myself as after 15 run throughs, Production gave me a change of camera direction on my way to the stage and it left me looking for the camera that came from different direction.”
was little frustrated with myself as after 15 run throughs, Production gave me a change of camera direction on my way to the stage &it left me looking for the camera that came from different direction. Shouldnt have allowed that to make me think, as I need to feel when performing

Similarly, judge Amanda Holden spoke of her shock at Paul being knocked out.
On Heart Radio, she reiterated her surprise at the result and called Paul “an absolute trooper”, telling listeners: “I was stunned by the voting, as I said on Saturday. [Paul] is our first ever Britain’s Got Talent champion. He is an absolute trooper, a gorgeous man, very talented. But then, you can never argue with people who are voting.”
