Chef and author Tim Maddams was blasted by viewers of Sunday Brunch after a disastrous appearance this morning.
He’d been brought onto the show to discuss rhubarb and the recipes possible after making something called “forced” rhubarb, which Tim Lovejoy joked was “cruelty to rhubarb”.
But the guest made a regrettable gaffe as he was introduced.
Tim Lovejoy asked the guest what he’d been up to recently, as is standard for any guest coming onto the show.
Tim replied: “Usual stuff, lots of teaching, working with a charity, feeding game meat to poor people… or people who are in need of food.
“Working on a book proposal, running around like a nutter, basically.”
Appearing to gloss over the poor choice of words, host Tim Lovejoy simply said: “Okay…” before carrying on with the rest of the day’s schedule.

However, viewers weren’t happy with the phrasing, with many taking to Twitter to pour scorn on Tim Maddams.
One wrote: “Who the hell is this incredibly rude guy?”
Another said: “Not impressed with that sentence”, while a third said: “How affensive [sic] and condescending do you want to be?!”
Sunday Brunch is never far from controversy, and just last week guest Vicky Pattison drew complaints as she guzzled wine during a taste test.
And before Christmas, Tim Lovejoy’s co-host Simon Rimmer was embarrassed when a guest pointed out something embarrassing he did during a routine on Strictly Come Dancing.

Luckily, Tim Maddams got through the rest of his segment without saying anything else offensive, and the rest of the show progressed smoothly.
Guests Ollie Locke, Joel Dommett and Alistair Campbell were also interviewed, and got to indulge in some tasty food as well.
