Speaking on the ‘Is It Just Me?’ podcast, the Good Morning Britain co-host said: “When you cut alcohol out that is an easy couple of pounds.
“As you get older your memory is affected. I just thought, ‘Alcohol is not great for your memory’.
“I really miss it. When you are in a big social group and the shots come out, I miss letting my hair down.”
Susanna took action after a doctor warned her that her BMI was too high, and she first admitted she was not drinking alcohol in September.
This comes after the former ‘BBC Breakfast’ presenter showed off a bandaged finger on ‘GMB’ on Monday November 12, after getting an infection from a nasty burn.
She said: “Do you admire me for my resilience this morning?
“I burnt myself on the toaster and then I got a really massive blister.
“I thought, shall I pop the blister or not? I did and now it’s infected.”
Susanna asked her co-host Piers Morgan for praise for turning up to work and wanted sympathy for the painful injury.

She said: “Come on, you’ve got to praise me for dragging myself into work this morning despite the fact I’m injured.”

He replied: “You were working all weekend and now you’ve got a friction burn from all your hard work.”
