The Bridge is a new Channel 4 reality series that sees 12 strangers coming together to win a huge cash sum.
The programme will centre on the participants having to build a large bridge in a short space of time to reach the prize.

In The Bridge, a group of 12 people who have never met before come together to carry out a challenge that they know nothing about.
They are located at a lake in the British countryside where £100,000 lies on an island.

To get it, they have to build an 850ft bridge, by hand, in just 20 days.
While the task might seem simple enough, Channel 4 is promising it won’t be easy.
It says, in a description of the reality TV programme: “A series of twists and turns along the way offer moral dilemmas, spark rivalries and put their ability to work together as a team to the test.”

Who is in the cast of The Bridge?
Channel 4 has confirmed the names, ages, occupations and hopes of those taking part in The Bridge.
Billie – 30, London
Publicist Billie has worked with a number of celebrities throughout her career and considers her ability to work under pressure to be one of her key strengths.
She is the daughter of presenter Trisha Goddard and five years ago went through the darkest period in her life as a result of childhood trauma, seeing her drug and alcohol addiction spiral.
She’s since got herself clean and sober – and is now an advocate for mental health issues.
Tara – 39, London
Waitress and spray tan beautician Tara is a recent COVID-19 survivor.
She spent nine days in intensive care back in March after contracting the virus and believes she came close to death.
She defines herself as a strong-minded superwoman, as she was addicted to drink and drugs at age 21 and recovered after taking herself to rehab and getting control of her life.
Today, she is married and has two daughters.
Sly – 60, London
Sly, a car fabricator by trade, serves as a carer for his 90-year-old mother.
He enjoys going above and beyond to help others and loves to stand out from the crowd. Asked what he thinks he will bring to The Bridge, he said his standout contribution will be his ability to “[make] the best out of the least”.
Sly is known as a friendly grandfather-type figure among his family and friends. He lost his son to a brain aneurysm, which taught him life’s too short to waste on being angry.
Zac, 26, Surrey
When he broke his foot several years ago, trained dancer and acrobat Zac knew he needed a change of career – and became a stripper for Dreamboys.
Zac suffers from what he calls ‘alpha-male syndrome’, which means he is likely to clash with other ‘leader’ types.
The dancer is confident that if he wins, he will be able to turn the prize pot into a million.
“I’m a problem-solver, I like puzzles and things that test my brain,” he said, according to Channel 4. “I feel like I’m well-suited to most challenges.”
Luke – 26, Doncaster
Luke works full-time as a plumber and models on the side.
He experienced homelessness when he grew up, at one point even living in a tent under a bridge with his sister and mum.
That taught him to understand what is really important in life. His past makes him work extra hard.
Luke is recently single following a two-year relationship and likes to go to the gym twice a day for six days per week.
Maura – 20, County Kildare, Ireland
Maura has lived in London since moving there from Ireland at age 16, when she joined a drama school.
An extremely competitive person, Maura was on the Irish National Tennis team when she was eight years old.
Maura understands she has had a privileged upbringing, but recently lost her job as a hotel entertainer and fitness instructor as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Rowan – 22, Fife
Rowan has worked as a camp counsellor and instructor of extreme sports in America.
While he admits he has a big ego and likens himself to Marmite, Rowan feels that people pre-judge him as a naïve person because of his age.
These days, he is a university graduate struggling to find work. But he’s not totally money motivated, as he said: “I’ve never even imagined having that sum in my bank account or having access to it so it’s hard to see that as a motivator.”
Last year, he came out to his family and friends as bisexual and feels he has been accepted.
Dominique – 21, Manchester
Headstrong student Dominique wasn’t old enough to vote in the Brexit referendum. But nowadays she considers herself a staunch Brexiteer.
She comes from a working-class background in Manchester, where she was raised by her mother after her dad died when she was a baby.
Dominique said: “I feel I have really good leadership qualities and I feel I’m a natural leader… when there’s an absence of leadership and people don’t know what’s going on, that’s when things go wrong.”
Julie – 28, London
Julie is a junior fashion designer and lives with her sister.
She has been single for four years and admits her mum is constantly on her back to find a boyfriend and settle down.
A spontaneous person, Julie once packed in her job to go travelling.
Her dream is to start a fashion brand with her sister, Jade.
Sarah – 44, Wirral
Self-assured leader Sarah is ex-military and currently ranked 2nd in the UK in the paddle board endurance series.
Today, she operates her own paddle board company. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she got a job as a cleaner.
She isn’t afraid to take charge and has no issue putting alpha male types in their place if she has to.
Sarah is divorced and has a daughter.
Levi – 29, Wolverhampton
Levi is a restaurant manager who is sick of straight men underestimating him because they don’t consider him a rival.
While he thinks he will be out of his comfort zone living out in the British countryside, he describes himself as ‘ruthless’ and won’t let anything get in his way of trying to rival any leader.

If he wins, he wants to put the money towards a property and also a surrogate, as he really wants to be a dad.
Sam – 26, Devon
Secondary school PE teacher Sam wants a change of career and is currently living with his parents while studying on a plumbing and gas course.
He is an adrenaline junkie has previously sky dived, bungee jumped and even gone cage diving with sharks.
“I don’t mind cooking, don’t really mind cleaning up, that sort of stuff,” he said. “The modern man, as it were! I’m relatively fit and just pretty hands on.”
