The Chase star Mark Labbett has revealed the secret weapon that aided him in his incredible 10-stone weight loss journey.
Mark, 56, appeared on a recent episode of ITV’s The Pet Show and opened up about his exercise regime and his special companion.
Who did Mark Labbett from The Chase say helped him during his weight loss journey?
Appearing on the show with hosts Dermot O’Leary and Joanna Page, he told the duo that his pet golden retriever Baloo helped to motivate him.
“My wife promised me that when we first got him she would take care of everything – feeding him, walking him and so on,” he said.

“That lasted about two weeks before she decided ‘Actually Mark, look at your belly – you need the exercise!'”
From then on, Mark – who now calls Baloo his “personal trainer” – got more involved.
“I was walking him around the fields, taking me places… I think he’s helped a lot, simply because I’m doing more activity,” he said.

Before the show, Mark took to Instagram to remind fans of the transmission time.
He shared an adorable snap of the pair as Baloo watched himself on TV intently.
He captioned the image: “This Sunday a little dog steals the show, ITV Sunday 5.35pm the Pet Show #fearless #alwayshungry #pubdog.”
And fans loved the grab, saying: “Nice to see the dog with u.”
Another wrote: “Looks like fun. Nice to see Baloo with you. Keep shining as always.”
How is Mark doing now?
The Chase star Mark Labbett was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes in 2017, and ever since then he’s been on a mission to shed the pounds.
And, after four years of cutting down his food portions and exercising more, he stunned fans on a night out.

Pictured at the recent ITV Palooza, he dazzled in his trademark black suit and black tie.
One fan gushed: “Wowza look at you… you look amazing, I bet ya feel amazing – smashing it Mr L!”
