Who did Sheridan Smith play?
Sheridan played Julie in the BBC drama.
She’s a mother on the estate who took it upon herself to lead the community search for Shannon.
Julie is very forthright with a very good heart.
She completely believed that Shannon had been kidnapped and was determined to help aid her rescue.
Sheridan and the real-life Julie became very close during filming.

Sheridan and Julie originally planned to meet for an hour in a London coffee bar to discuss the show.
However, they got on so well that they ended up spending the day together.
Julie told Mirror Online: “She was out of this world. I’ve met her often since, spending a week with her during filming and we phone each other all the time.”
“She needed me more than I need her. But I have found a friend for life in Sheridan,” she added.
What did Karen Matthews think of The Moorside?
Karen reportedly fled to Spain when the TV show reignited interest in her life.
A source told Daily Star at the time: “She knows she can never avoid her past. With this programme on the telly she’s realised living abroad might be a better option for her.”
Karen was jailed for eight years after her plot was uncovered in the end, but she was released after serving just four years.
