Viewers of Strictly Come Dancing 2024 will no doubt want to know all kinds about this year’s contestants, including how rich they are!
But while the sums this year’s celebs may be paid to take the dance floor haven’t emerged as yet, there may be clues online concerning some stars’ net worth.
However, as these claims don’t seem to be made by their accountants, these reports should be regarded with caution.
So who’s the ‘richest Strictly 2024 contestant’, then? This is what ED!, without having access to any of their financial records, has been able to find online.
Jamie Borthwick
Jamie Borthwick earns his crust as Jay Brown in EastEnders. He also won the Christmas special of Strictly in 2023 as a warm up for this series!
According to OK!, Jamie’s exact net worth is unknown. However, the website highlights how he is likely to be taking home a nice wage, making comparisons to other Albert Square regulars such as Steve McFadden, who earns between £200,000 and £300,000.
Tom Dean
Swimmer Tom Dean has lots of gold… three Olympic medals of that description, in fact!
As of August 2024, the Internet is lacking guestimates of how much moolah he may have made from laps in the pool.
But the Mirror reports he may be worth £2.3million.
Montell Douglas
Another Olympian – as both a sprinter and a bobsleigher – Montell Douglas is also known to BBC viewers as a star of Gladiators.
It isn’t a matter of public record how much she earns in that role. But The Sun previously speculated she could pull in £70 per post for any adverts she may share on Instagram.
Wynne Evans
ED! has previously reported how opera singer and BBC Radio Wales presenter Wynne Evans‘ wealth is not public knowledge.
However, the Express website reckons Go Compare star Wynne indicated he takes home a hefty sum as he compared himself to Gary Lineker.
Tasha Ghouri
According to the Mirror, Love Island cast member Tasha Ghouri could be worth £2million.
Furthermore, she is said to rake in the cash through social media brand deals, which reportedly can be worth up to £3,000 per sponsored post on Instagram.
JB Gill
JLS star and television presenter JB Gill is said to be worth £3million, according to the Mirror.
He’s previously revealed: “When I was with JLS, we were paid five-figure and six-figure sums for private gigs where we would typically do sets lasting no more than 20 minutes. Obviously we’d split these fees four ways.”
Back in 2021, he was said to reside in a £1.7million farmhouse with his family.
Sarah Hadland
Some Miranda fans may recognise Sarah Hadland from her role as sidekick Stevie.
She’s also starred in The Job Lot and Horrible Histories – but there’s no indication online how wealthy she is because of these plum telly parts.
Nick Knowles
Telly fave Nick Knowles was reported at the end of last year to have a net worth of around £7.5m ($10m), according to Celebrity Net Worth.
Furthermore, when he appeared on I’m A Celebrity in 2018, Nick reportedly was paid £200,000. That same year, it was reported he earned £349,000 from the BBC for his presenting work.
Dr Punam Krishan
It isn’t clear how much Morning Live star Dr Punam Krishan may be paid for her appearances on the BBC show.
Additionally, information isn’t available about her day job pay.
However, the basic salary for an NHS doctor in training – which Dr Punam isn’t – is £32,398.
Chris McCausland
Stand up comedian Chris McCausland has been making TV appearances for a few years, and anchors his own ITV chat series The Chris McCausland Show.
Feedflora.com claims he may be worth over £800,000.
Paul Merson
Former Arsenal player Paul Merson reportedly spent millions in the past on addictions, having been valued by the Mirror at £12million.
He’s said: “I didn’t stop until, eventually, I’d lost everything I’d ever had – close to £7 million, including houses, cars, marriages, my entire pension and my self-respect.”
Sam Quek
The third Olympian in the 2024 line-up, Sam Quek, is said to be worth an estimated £4million.
As well as sporting achievements, her career has included appearing on I’m A Celebrity and being a team captain on BBC’s Question of Sport.
Shayne Ward
X Factor winner Shayne Ward could be worth £2.3million, it is claimed.
It is believed he was signed to a £700,000 deal after his reality series win. Additionally, as a Coronation Street regular Shayne was reportedly paid £800,000 a year.
Pete Wicks
Reality series cast member Pete Wicks hails from Brentwood in Essex, where knowing everyone’s worth seems very important.
His own personal fortune may be as much as £3million, according to one tabloid report.
Furthermore, according to reports, his Staying Relevant podcast may bring him in £15,000 a month.
Toyah Willcox
How much is Toyah Willcox worth? It’s a mystery!
Celebrity Net Worth claims the answer could be $15million (£11m), however.
