The Vixen hits back at trolls after epic defeat on The Chase

Solo contestant Judith broke a show record

| Updated:

Viewers of The Chase have witnessed a record-breaking moment in the show’s history, as contestant Judith achieved the highest ever sum of money for a solo player.

She won a life-changing £70,000 after facing Chaser, The Vixen, in the final round, after her whole team was knocked outin the earlier stages of the Bradley Walsh-fronted show.

Tension mounted as she managed to win a huge 20 steps, and The Vixen – AKA Jenny Ryan – congratulated her as she came out to play.

And then Judith proceeded to push The Vixen back a dizzying number of times, with the accomplished quiz pro faltering over questions such as the capital of Syria.

Staggered host Bradley declared that Judith had become a record breaker with her £70K triumph, and then moved to hug her, saying: “I’ve never seen anything like it.”

Jenny was gracious in defeat as the show aired, writing on Twitter: “I’ve been awaiting the broadcast of this episode… Judith is such a memorable contestant! #TheChase.

“ALL HAIL JUDITH! If I remember correctly, Judith was a standby contestant, and only found out she was on the show 24 hours before recording.

“I was well and truly beaten.”

Jenny also explained that she’d had to rush with her answers after Judith had secured her initial 20 steps.

“Absolute perfect play by Judith,” she wrote. “£70k at table with nothing to lose. She set a very strong 20, which forced me to rush slightly.

“Then capitalised on my errors by nailing pushbacks – which further put the time pressure on me, leading to more errors.”

Unfortunately some mean-spirited viewers had to ruin the moment by mocking Jenny, with some even suggesting she’d lose her spot on the show.
