However, away from the music world, her personal life has had plenty of people talking over the years. LeAnn is married to Eddie – and despite a rocky start to their romance, they are still going strong nearly two decades years later.

The Voice star LeAnn Rimes on meeting husband Eddie

LeAnn and Eddie first met while filming the Lifetime movie Northern Lights in Canada back in 2008. At the time, they were both married to other people.

Eddie was married to Brandi Glanville, whom he shares two sons with, while LeAnn wed Dean Sheremet in February 2002.

And it didn’t take long for the pair to hit off, as well as affair rumours to circulate in the media.

Following the rumours, a source confirmed in 2009 that LeAnn had separated from her husband. What’s more, just days before, it was announced that Eddie and Brandi had also ended things.

LeAnn Rimes has ‘no regrets’ over affair

In 2010, LeAnn spoke about the end of her marriage for the first time publicly. Talking about the affair, she told People: “I did one of the most selfish things that I possibly could do, in hurting someone else.

“I take responsibility for everything I’ve done. I hate that people got hurt, but I don’t regret the outcome.”

She also shared how she and Eddie started out as friends before it transitioned into something more. LeAnn revealed: “It was very emotionally driven. I never once thought what I was doing was okay.”

Fast forward to December 2010 and LeAnn and Eddie got engaged. And in March 2011, the happy couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at their California home.

It’s been reported that the 40 guests in attendance thought they were attending an engagement celebration – but it turned out to be LeAnn and Eddie’s actual nuptials.

Eddie hits back after ex’s ‘lies’

Years later, in 2016, LeAnn was called out by Eddie’s ex-wife Brandi, reportedly asking her to stop sharing snaps of her children online.

“It upsets me,” Eddie said about his ex-wife’s comments.

“Brandi is lying. She lies for the sake of publicity and she has to bring in my wife unfortunately for it to make headlines.

“It isn’t fair. She never asked LeAnn to not post pictures of the kids during the holidays, ever. They don’t even talk!” he added.

Brandi and the singer call a truce

However, in 2018, and after years of animosity, LeAnn and Eddie’s ex-wife Brandi called an apparent truce with one another.

The pair posed for a selfie on Instagram together to celebrate their son’s 11th birthday. Brandi later revealed that the two women had a long conversation after years of feuding.

“We just kind of had it out about what is right, what is wrong, what’s better for the kids, and what bothered me and what bothered her,” Brandi said.

She continued, “Everyone’s happy. I think the hardest part was just her and I going at it, and now that that’s done, the kids are super happy. They’ve never been happier.”

The Voice UK airs on Saturdays at 8:00pm on ITV1.
