The Voice UK producers reportedly ditch one mentor

But who's in line to replace them?

The Voice UK has only been on ITV for one series and already producers are reportedly planning big changes for the next series.

No doubt disappointed by the lack of impact the show had – it rated lower than it did on the BBC – they have apparently decided to ditch one of the mentors.

Don’t worry will.i.am ain’t going anywhere. Nor is Jennifer Hudson. Or Tom Jones. Which leaves…

Oh yes, poor nice guy Gavin Rossdale is being given the heave-ho.

Why? According to reports bosses thought he lacked charisma.

A source has also revealed that Danny Jones from McFly was such a hit on The Voice Kids that he is in the running to take over

“Gavin was great to work with during the series, but the bosses just felt he wasn’t right in the end,” the insider told The Sun.

“He didn’t make much of an impact, and they want someone with serious spark and charisma.

“So they have taken the decision that he won’t be back next year.

“Danny Jones is currently one of the favourites to replace him.

During the series, Gavin had found it hard to woo contestants who more often than not opted for the other judges.

Gavin is the lead singer of rock band Bush, who were way more famous in the US in the 90s than they were in their own country.

An ITV spokesperson has down played the reports and offered a bland: “It’s too early to confirm the line-up for 2018.”
