Viewers of This Morning were more than a bit miffed today, when they accused the ITV show of recycling a segment on… ahem… upcycling.
So keen was the morning TV show to promote reusable items, fans believe producers had reused the whole segment from months ago!

The segment promised to help viewers upcycle ‘the easy way’ as property developer Georgina Burnett – aka the Home Genie – showed those watching from home how to repaint a chair, add a personal touch to a table or transform an old umbrella.
With a nod to half term, Georgina also revealed how to get the kids involved too.
However, viewers weren’t impressed and accused the show of doing a bit of recycling themselves!

One disgruntled TV watcher tweeted: “Upcycling an upcycling item. Running out of content again. #repeat #ThisMorning.”
Another fumed: “This is a repeat #ThisMorning.”
A third typed: “This Morning hasn’t the #upcycling segment been played before? Play, repeat, play, repeat. Haven’t they got new content? What’s the betting they’ll play it this Sunday too?”
“Why are you repeating the upcycling film?” asked another. “Running out of things to show? #ThisMorning.”

In fact, eagle-eyed viewers were right… A very similar segment by the Home Genie had originally shown in March, just two months ago.
As well as being upset by the repetitive nature of the segment, fans also ridiculed the very idea of upcycling.
One described it as “fannying about”, while another questioned the motion of using a perfectly good umbrella as a utensil to hold flowers in.
Georgina also cut up her husband’s shirts to make a cushion.

ED! contacted This Morning for comment, and a spokesperson told us that the show sometimes repeats content, especially during the school holidays.
