This Morning star Lynsey Crombie has shared her “panic” after doctors told her she had cancer.
Author and cleaning expert Lynsey has been diagnosed with melanoma skin cancer, having had two moles removed from her leg.
She consulted a doctor last September after becoming concerned about the markings, which weren’t on her body previously.

Speaking to the Express website, Lynsey – who has also appeared as a pundit on Good Morning Britain – recalled her sense of panic as she received her cancer news.
Lynsey said: “I was actually working in America and I got a call to say it’s melanoma. I just panicked and put the phone down on him and couldn’t talk to him, I didn’t even know what to say. You hear the word ‘cancer’ and you panic.”

‘It’s been really difficult’
Having undergone two ops, Lynsey is currently awaiting results for a nodular on her back. She acknowledges her mental health has suffered as a result and has found herself worrying.
“It’s been really difficult if I’m honest, I feel like a bit of a ticking time bomb,” she admitted.
I can’t say I’m cancer-free until five years down the line.
“The thing is with a lot of cancers is that you can have it removed, you can have chemotherapy but with melanoma, you have to have skin checks for five years. I can’t say I’m cancer-free until five years down the line.”
Nonetheless, Lynsey is heartened by knowing she’s helping others by speaking about her condition and raising awareness.
She added how she’s become “a bit of a mole expert” – and is sent pictures of moles by fans concerned with their own skin growths.
Additionally, as well as advising anyone that may be worried to consult a doctor, Lynsey also hopes people will be vigilant as the sun comes out over the summer and people wear clothes that cover their body less.
