This Morning’s Gok Wan has been laid up in bed for days as he battles a mystery health issue, the star revealed last night (Wednesday March 12).
Fashionista Gok told his Instagram followers he’d forced himself to leave his home, despite being unwell, to pay tribute to a late friend.
The death of his close friend Alison Parry – who Gok, 50, refers to by the nickname Fanny – was announced last May. She had been diagnosed with incurable breast cancer.

Telly fave Gok hailed Fanny following her passing: “We spent many years preparing for this moment but no amount of talks or planning could have prepared me for this overwhelming pain. I miss her so much already.”
He also unveiled a tattoo in her memory, on his forearm, containing flowers and her initials.
Now, several months on, Gok has marked another significant date relating to Alison and shared his love for her on social media.

Gok’s tribute
Uploading a short video and several snaps, Gok explained in his post’s caption he observed what would have been Alison’s birthday with candles on a doughnut in a special place for the pals.
Gok wrote: “Been sick all week and in bed but, today I had to leave the house for 10 mins to take a cake and some music to Al’s tree for her birthday.”
He went on: “I’m home again and wrapped up on the sofa with Dolly [his dog]. A [blank]storm of emotions all day but happy Fanny got a birthday cake, well doughnut.”
Gok didn’t reveal why he’s feeling poorly in the post.

Gok also recently shared snaps of him and Alison in each other’s company before she died.
“Happy Birthday my darling Fanny,” he wrote. “I miss you every inch, second, smile and breath of every day. I would give all the music on earth to hear you laugh again. Gok added: “I know you’re sipping a twinkle in the skies baby… I toast you and your birthday angel. Love you forever x.”
