On This Morning today, a caller became emotional as she opened up about struggling to get into the festive spirit because she’s battling cancer.
Kerry, who was diagnosed with endometrial cancer, phoned in to get advice from agony aunt Deidre Sanders and revealed she’s having a full hysterectomy on December 15.
She said doctors have caught the cancer “really early” but she ‘doesn’t know how to cope’ with the diagnosis.
This Morning today
Kerry told Deidre, Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary: “Normally I’m really excited for Christmas and I just can’t get into the spirit of it.

“It’s my birthday on Tuesday and my second wedding anniversary on Monday as well.
“Normally I’m the most excited person in the house for Christmas but I just can’t get into it. I’m only 39 on Tuesday.”
Kerry went on to say that she’s been off work since her diagnosis and she’s been told to isolate amid the pandemic.
She said: “I’m just finding it really hard.”
Deidre then offered advice to Kerry and some websites which can offer help.
She said: “Try and get support from your husband so he can make the preparations for Christmas and then just go with the feelings as they come naturally.
“Please also turn to Macmillan as they are great.”
Kerry said her husband and stepdaughter have been “great”, adding: “It’s just everything, why me?
“I had a string of health issues before this happened. This is just the cherry on the cake.
“I’ve got a thyroid issue, chronic fatigue. I’ve had time off work, just got a different job. It just doesn’t seem fair, like why does this have to happen to me?”
Alison told her: “It does seem so unfair Kerry, but the thing is you’re here now. You’ve got to just live the moment, live for every moment because none of us know what’s going to happen.”
Viewers shared their support for Kerry on Twitter.
One person said: “Kerry’s story is heart breaking. I hope Deidre gives her good advice.”
