Angry viewers have hit out at ITV’s This Morning for apparently snubbing St George’s Day.
Fans are furious that the daytime show celebrated the patron days of Wales, Scotland and Ireland, as well as marking Chinese New Year, but made only a fleeting mention of England’s equivalent.
And they vented their anger over the choice of today’s cookery slot — Indonesian satay chicken — and instead demanded a traditional English dish, such as fish and chips.
Hosts Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby were greeted at the start of the show by a pretend dragon, St George’s famed foe, but quickly moved on.

Viewers labelled the programme “unpatriotic” and weren’t shy expressing how they felt on Twitter.
One posted: “Watched until the very end, where was the St George’s Day celebration?
“The St. Patrick’s Day programme was great, what’s wrong with celebrating St George? Why aren’t the English allowed to be patriotic?”
Another wrote: “Where’s the St George flags and bunting? St Andrew’s Day got covered, they had daffodils out for St David’s Day and they went completely OTT for St Patrick!”
The cookery segment came in for the most flak, with one viewer saying ironically: “More homage to St George in the cookery slot — Satay Chicken sir fry.”
“You would think on St George’s Day, they could have made a British meal for the cookery slot,” added another.
Other viewers demanded an explanation why This Morning featured a traditional Irish meal on St Patrick’s Day but not an English dish on April 23.
