What did Elizabeth say on This Morning?

Elizabeth emotionally explained: “I had to make the heartbreaking decision to put my 16-year-old Yorkshire Terrier to sleep two weeks ago.

“Even though she was 16, she had really good health. Basically it was kidney failure, and I had to make the decision to put her to sleep.

“She was my birthday present from my late father 16 years ago.

“I live completely on my own, I’ve not got children and she was my baby.

“I’m finding it so hard to cope. I’m feeling tremendous guilt. The vet said to me, ‘you gave her a really happy life.'”

She continued: “I just feel so guilty and I don’t know where to turn. I haven’t even had the strength to put her toys away.”

A third tweeted: “Couldn’t imagine losing my two cats. Must be heartbreaking they are a family member not just a pet.”

Meanwhile, Emma opened up about losing her own dog.

She said: “[You have to] acknowledge that the grief is as real as when a lot of people lose a close relationship.

“She was the prettiest dog ever. She was in my bed every night when Dad died and she was just the constant.
