Love Island’s Chris Hughes took part in a live testicular examination on Wednesday’s This Morning.
Chris opened up about his battle with a varicocele, which is a collection of enlarged veins within the scrotum.
He revealed he first noticed something abnormal with his testicle when he was 14, but didn’t consult with a doctor until he was 20.
The reality star revealed he also had a hydrocele on his right testicle, which is a sac filled with fluid that forms around a testicle.
Chris revealed he underwent a number of operations in the hope of getting rid of the problem.
He then joined Dr Chris to show men watching from home how to check for lumps in their testicles at home.
As he moved his fingers around Chris’ testicles, Dr Chris explained: “Place your finger and put it around the back.”
He said men should look for a lump, usually the size of a pea that is “firm”.
He said: “If men detect this inside their testicles, they should be seen by their GP.
“It takes 10 seconds. Up and down not pressing too firm.”
Reality star Chris said: “I can’t feel a thing.”
Dr Chris explained: “[Chris has] had a lot of surgery and I can still feel everything. Try and do this once a month. A lot of men who find something wrong are embarrassed to go to a GP about it.”
Co-host Rochelle Humes exclaimed: “So brave!”
As he sat back on the sofa with Rochelle and Phillip Schofield, reality star Chris added: “Movember is great. You don’t need to go to a GP to get checked.
“It’s a shame people are so shy to get checked out and doctors have seen everything so for them it’s no different so I don’t understand why people are.”
Giving some final advice to viewers, Dr Chris added: “Keep your eye on the ball!”
Viewers watching from home were quick to share their thoughts.
