Tragic final texts from Jeremy Kyle Show guest Steve Dymond

He is believed to have taken his life after appearing on the programme

The Jeremy Kyle Show has been indefinitely suspended from filming and broadcasting.

ITV announced yesterday that an investigation had been launched following the death of a guest who had been filmed for the episode due out that morning.

The guest has since been named as Steve Dymond, a 62-year-old digger driver from Hampshire.

It’s understood that Mr Dymond had approached the show in an attempt to prove ha hadn’t been unfaithful to this partner, Jane Callaghan.

But, filming the show on May 2, he failed the lie detector test, which prompted the end of his relationship.

Reportedly ‘humiliated and traumatised’, Mr Dymond is believed to have taken his own life last Thursday.

Ms Callaghan has spoken to The Sun of her distress over her ex’s death.

She also detailed the final message he sent her, which read: “I can’t live without you. I just wanted to come and see you. I just wanted to say sorry before I go. My life is not worth living without you.”

Ms Callaghan also revealed that Mr Dymond, a grandfather, had been diagnosed with depression in February, but had been given a note from his doctor to say he was fit to do the show.

“He wanted to go on. He was really excited and confident,” she explained. “But it was all a front and I knew it. He wasn’t well at all.”

Yesterday ITV said of the tragic incident: “Everyone is shocked and saddened at the news of the death of a participant in the show.

“ITV will not screen the episode in which they featured.

“ITV has also decided to suspend both filming and broadcasting of The Jeremy Kyle Show with immediate effect in order to give it time to conduct a review of this.”

All previous episodes of the show have now been pulled from ITV Hub.
