Kate Garraway screamed as Ben Shephard pretended to cut her hair during this morning’s Good Morning Britain.
The presenters were discussing the viral clip of a woman who fainted on Turkish TV after getting too much of her hair cut off during a makeover segment.
Ben was quick to ask his co-stars Kate and Charlotte Hawkins: “Would you let me cut your hair?”

Charlotte quickly said: “Absolutely not.”
Speaking about the woman fainting, Kate admitted: “I’d be the same. It is a big thing for women isn’t it, hair?”
Ben then pulled out a pair of scissors as Kate exclaimed: “No you can’t!”
Ben said: “But you’ve got so much of it,” to which Kate replied: “You’re not a trained hairdresser and those look like sewing scissors!”
He said: “Scissors are scissors. Just a little bit.”
Kate then turned around and Ben started chopping the back of her barnet.
Kate screamed: “No! No, don’t don’t don’t, seriously, Ben, honestly!”
Ben admitted: “It’s not as easy as I thought it was going to be.”
He then held a huge piece of blonde hair in his hand as a mortified Kate said: “Ben! You can’t do that. That’s not funny.
“You can’t do that to someone. It’s my hair!”

Ben said: “I think it looks alright. That was really much harder than I thought it was going to be.”
Charlotte quipped: “Don’t think you’ll be getting any calls to do any hairdressing any time soon, will you?”
That was nearly the end of a very beautiful 20-year friendship.
Kate asked: “Have I got a massive hole at the back?” to which Ben laughed: “There’s not a massive hole in the back!”
He then said: “Don’t worry… it wasn’t real. I pulled a fast one.”
Looking very relieved, Kate said: “Flipping heck!

“That was nearly the end of a very beautiful 20-year friendship. I was really traumatised.”
Viewers were in hysterics over the prank, with one person tweeting: “You two need to get your own show together, with no other presenters. I love your chemistry. Always makes me laugh.”
Another said: “Ben I think you must have had a kick under the desk this morning, good fun!” while a third added: “GMB is getting better & better loving the sense of humour.”
